She began her career at the Lincoln Culinary Institute in Hartford, Connecticut, as a Senior Admissions Representative and went on to serve as its Assistant Director and Director of Admissions. Johanne attended Cambridge College and Springfield Technical Community College.听

She is a graduate of the Community College of Rhode Island with an associate in science degree in Business Science majoring in Accounting and graduating with high honors.
