New England Tech鈥檚 Associate in Science degree program in Surgical Technology has received the annual merit award from the (NBSTSA) for achieving at least a 90% graduate pass rate on the Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) examination from August 1, 2014 to July 31, 2015. Graduates obtaining national certification as a CST demonstrate by examination the understanding of the basic competencies for safe patient care in the operating room. The CST is widely recognized nationally as the foremost credential for surgical technologists. This certification is required for employment by many local, state and national health care organizations.
